A very good day

Yesterday was probably one of the best days we have had as a family in a long time. All because Jonny and I decided while Josiah was in preschool to go to the beach. We hurried and got ourselves all ready and picked up Josiah and headed towards Tillamook. We ended up going to Barview County Park, which is where the Tillamook Bay flows into the Ocean. We walked out on the rocky jetty and saw lots of really cool birds and watched the waves crash onto the rocks, and somehow managed to lose Jacob's shoe. We headed back for it and luckily found it! Yay! Then we took the kids to the small beach right beside the jetty. The kids had so much fun exploring the rocks and driftwood piles. We forgot our sand toys but we found shells that worked perfect for digging and the kids found all kinds of things to make a big pile treasures that ended up being a castle with a drawbridge and of course a big cannon. The sun was shining but we didn't get a sunburn, the kids played and didn't fight, and Jonny and I got to sit and watch the surfers and waves crash and not chase kids out of the water. It was a perfect beach day! We ate dinner in Garibaldi, it was not good so I will not go on about dinner, and then took a short drive to Tillamook but missed the Cheese factory by ten minutes! So we went to another one a block away and pet the farm animals and got some yummy chocolates, got Josiah some sherbert, and Jonny and I tasted some wines. It was really fun! We had a great time even though it was not the big cheese factory. Then after we were all done the sun was getting ready to set and it was setting itself up to be absolutely gorgeous so we drove back north a while and caught the sunseting over the Tillamook Bay. It was fantastic. After the sun dropped we drove to a nearby beach, same one we were at earlier and watched the rest of the colors fade away. It would have been so romantic had the kids not been so wild in the back seat with their screaming and giggling. But we managed to tune them out for a few minutes and enjoyed a chocolate truffle and watched the reds, pinks, and purples of the sunset fade away. It was the perfect ending to a perfect beach day! Enjoy some pictures from our day. :-)
