I'm sorry it's been so long since I have posted but I've had a hard time coming up with something coherent lately. So, our house full of 8 people... well in the last month everyone... yes every single person... has been sick with at least one illness if not two. Mostly we seem to be passing this certain coughing, sore throat, sneezing, runny nose virus around and around again. The baby got the cough this last weekend much to my dismay, so it's been a rough week. Just last night he was up from 6pm till 1am screaming. Yep, not so much fun. Plus with myself and Josiah both trying to get over same cough and stuffy nose this week... we're a bit tired to say the least. We keep praying that eventually this will pass and everyone will be well again but that day hasn't come yet so we keep trudging on.
In the middle of all the sickness we have celebrated my nephew's 10th birthday and brother-in-law's graduation from college and today is my sister's birthday. We are all pretty done with cake so we are having banana splits for dessert. Mmm yummy. And I offered to make dinner for dear sister, so we will be having chicken and asparagus bundles for dinner. Hope it turns out yummy. So even through sickness, we still know how to party! :-)
Now onto the good and bad news of my husband getting a job in Portland.
We have found out this week that HIlti is halting all new openings of Pro-Shops in North America becuase of a major downturn in that market. Major Bummer!!! So being the smart folk that we are... we can put 2 and 2 together to mean that they won't be needing Jonny to open any Pro-Shops in Portland, which was the job transfer we were hoping for. So that explains a lot of the weirdness he has been getting from his higher ups. So we decided that since Hilti is not going to be getting us back to Portland that Jonny would look for work elswhere. He worked for a flooring contractor before we left Portland laying flooring. Well, long story short they have new owners and the original owner has gone back to company to help them get back on their feet so to speak. And Jonny is really good friends with original owner still, so after a phone conversation with him and the new owner, he may be flying to Portland this weekend to interview for one of the 2 new Sales positions that this company has (not to lay floors anymore). He feels very confident and able to do this job and feels like he has a good chance at getting one of the positions. It is a good lead at least for now and I am happy for that. God keeps giving us little "bones" to keep our hopes of moving back to Portland alive. I'm not sure exactly where He is leading us but I am trying to be patient and listen to Him and His guidance on this situation. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Blessings to all.
