I have been trying to get on blogger for a week and write about my oldest son's birthday and life just seems to keep getting in the way. You know... crying babies, feeding the kids, keeping house clean, shopping... and just spending time with my lovely children.
Anyway, my oldest son turned 4 last week. We had a Tonka Truck themed party for him the weekend before. He had such a good time. He is still talking about the party. He received many Tonka vehicles for his birthday, so we have been busy playing "construction guys" for the last week. It's a new realm for me... I am one of 3 girls so I am not used to "boy play." I have really been enjoying it though. Boys are fun... but oh so energetic!
I was reflecting on the day of his actual birthday and remembering the day he was born and the day we brought him home. The weather was certainly much different that year. It was 90 degrees the day we brought him him home, and this year on that day it was barely 60 and chilly and raining. At the exact time he was born I grabbed him and gave him a great big hug and told him how much I loved him and kissed his forehead just as I did that lovely morning he was born. My how time flies and oh boy how they grow! Little did I know that day would change who I am for the rest of my life! I am now a mother to 2 of the sweetest boys in the world and I would not change my life for any other day prior to having kids... although I am quite partial to the day I married my wonderful husband as well. :-)
I pray that you all are as blessed as I feel today.

Well I thought it was a fun party....Glad Josiah had fun too. :)
I've been thinking I'm going to start a tradition on this, her first birthday. I always try to use my "personal day" for my birthday just for me. I think I'm going to start a tradition and always take off her b-day too. Hard to believe almost a year has gone by already!

Jennifer,
Yeah! Josiah is four; it is so hard to imagine that many years have gone by. What a cool idea for a party too! By the way, Josiah looks so much like you. The way he smiles says Jennifer all over it. Love you guys!
