C'mon Curly, let's go catch some bugs!
They look really great in this picture and most of the time Josiah is nice to the dog but then there are times that make you want to say "what in the world was he thinking!?" Like last night.... he was riding his bike with the neighbor boy, and then out of nowhere, he aims straight at the dog and goes riding really fast and slams into the dog! What the heck!? We pulled him off the bike and put it in the garage and sent him to his room after a pretty good talking to. He threw all kinds of fits b/c he could not play with his friends anymore regardless of the fact that he just slammed the dog. So his punishment was no bike and no friends for last night and today. So of course all I hear today is, I want to play with my friends, I want to ride my bike. It's like he has totally forgotten what he did and his punishment. I have tried talking to him about choices, and that he made a choice to hit the dog and now he can't play on his bike or with his friends. I have told him about 20 times already today. My question is... "what else can I do to get him to understand this is wrong, and also get him to stop doing things like this?" Or is this a terrible phase/stage that we just have trudge through? It's times like these when I feel like I am a complete failure at parenting and why did God entrust "me" with 2 boys? What was He thinking? Well, I guess what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
Blessings to you all today and always.
