And the winner is...

Nancy! Congratulations on being the closest guess!

Nobody guessed the exact number, which is 45 3/4 inches, but several were close. Good guessing everyone. Nancy was the closest with the guess of 46 inches. Thank you everyone for playing, this was lots of fun for me. :-) I hope that you all had fun too. :-) If anybody has any other ideas to help this time go by quicker or any other fun game ideas to play, leave a message.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this morning that I had not grown any more inches since last Friday. I measured myself in the same spot I had last week... which was around where my waist used to be and across my belly button which looks to be the widest girth area, and sure enough I had not grown even a half an inch. Yay! I have a dr's appt tomorrow and I am anxious to speak with my dr. I am 34 weeks already! I can't believe I am this far already. It's hard to beleive that in just a few short days will be when my water broke with Josiah's pregnancy. Makes me a little nervous but each pregnancy is different and this one has certainly been that and much more. I know that God will bring this little one to the world as soon as he is ready to meet us. It's been really fun hearing and feeling the buzz around the house about the coming baby and when he is going to come into this world. It has certainly been quite special to share this with my sister's family. We are truly blessed with much!

Well, my first dear boy had a check-up at the dr yesterday morning and it was quite the ordeal. I knew that he would probably need one or 2 shots but thankfully he didn't know what that meant so he came along happily. After waiting for an hour and 15 minutes in the waiting room we finally got called back. Yeah, I really did say that long... it was not pleasant at all! Our appt was at 9 am and we did not leave the office until 11am! After being called into the room and got his weight checked ( he wieghed in at a whopping 35 pounds!) and his height checked ( which measured at 39 inches!) then we were told he had to get completely undressed and put one of those hot little paper sheets across his lap and wait for the dr to come in. We proceeded to wait for the dr to come in for 25 minutes! It was an awful wait. You know... even if it was just me waiting like that for my dr to come in for that amount of time I would be bored to death and a bit irritated... now imagine being 3 yrs old and never having been to this office before, and for a pediatrician office to not have any toys or books in them is almost unheard of! So here I am trying to keep him happy with the little amount of stuff I have in purse... (bad mommy for just cleaning her purse out). I didn't even bring a glass of juice or a snack b/c I thought we would be home by snacktime. I won't be assuming that ever again. So needless to say, we sang a lot of songs and made up stories and played with the one little tractor I had. After the dr came in and introduced herself, she took a quick history of Josiah's life and any major medical issues he has had. Then she gave him a very quick physical, which really didn't seem as comprehensive as others he has had. Then she told me that he needed a Hep A shot and a T.B. test and have his blood tested for Hemoglobin. She left and came back in with the 2 needles and told me to hold him down. Usually nurses give shots... and I thought that was b/c they didn't want kids to be afraid of their dr's. Nope, not this lady she just came in and told me to hold him down while she gave him one shot in his arm and one in his leg. And bam, bam she did it and she was gone. I was left with a naked and wailing 3 yr old. Have you ever tried calming down a wiggly, naked, and crying uncontrollably 3 yr old? Well I got him dressed and loved and somewhat calmed... then I just got us out of there. I was not planning to take him back there ever again but unfortunately I have to take him back to have him checked b/c of the T.B. test. Then I will be promptly finding another pediatrician. Well we made it home and all is well now of course but he had quite the grumpy day yesterday... and I allowed it to a certain extent.

Well I will go for now, it's time for snack. I will be back soon to update you all on how my dr's appt goes tomorrow. Take care and blessings to all.

That sounds like quite the unpleasant experience for your little.
I also thought that doctors did not do injections.
I know at the HMO we belong to, they send them to an injection clinic or the lab if they need blood work.
(Not that the HMO is a wonderful solution by any means!)

I've never heard of such bad service! When you call to make the follow-up appt, I would be sure & ask them what time you will actually be seeing the dr since you don't plan on waiting 1 hour 40 minutes again!!!

Jennifer,
What a bummer about the doctor appointment; poor mom and Josiah! I am thinking a new pediatrician is in order. Some just aren't very good with kids or perhaps she was having a bad day. I enjoy reading about your days because I can totally see it in my mind's eye.
I love and miss you my friend!
