In case you wondered we are still here. Just plugging along in life. The few weeks of crazy weather and holidays mixed in with a couple birthdays, then the craziness of this month with Josiah's testing has made for one tired mama. Sorry I haven't written in so long though. I will try to briefly update you on our lives.
The kids had a great time exploring what "winter life" in the snow was like for about 2 weeks. It was exciting for them to go outside every day and play in the cold snowy weather. They enjoyed every moment they could!
We had wild and crazy holidays, as will be the normal until they get older. The kids got some really great gifts from lots of family and friends that they continue to play with. We enjoyed Christmas eve celebrations with my family, and Christmas day get together with the Green Family. We also had a New Year's day get together and gift exchange at our house that was full of excitement and tired-ness from a much too late evening the night before.
We also were able to get together with some much loved friends from afar. We made a short trip out to Boring one night to visit Amy's family and exchanged presents that Josiah still speaks of fondly to this day. And we also had Jared's family over for an evening of homemade pizza. That was so special because it was one of those rare moments where everyone came in the kitchen and helped in the making of pizza. I think the friendship we shared that evening was better than the pizza but it was all good. :-) We love to visit with our friends, and I love to cook for them when they come! :-)
January has brought many new tests, surveys, and observations of Josiah. We are now going through Multnomah Early Childhood Program. What I like best about them, is that it is free. We are now thinking that Josiah does not so much "have" autism but more that he carries some of the qualities of a high functioning autistic, but more specifically that he has some learning disablities. This is something that I can better internalize obviously. This is definitely something that this new program can help him with as well. We are looking at getting him help to learn new skills and strategies that will help him learn better in school, when he starts kindergarten next year.
What is next on this new schedule is that they will be observing him at preschool. So we will send him back to preschool this month for a few days anyway, so they can see how he reacts to this type of atmosphere plus see how he acts around children his own age. Then our next planning appt is on February 2nd. We will make a plan as to how we all think and feel will help Josiah succeed best in school and in life. I very much look forward to this appt and ask that you pray all will come together at this point for the good of Josiah.
Thank you all for your continued support of our family. We pray for blessings for you all in this new year! Much love to you all. :-)

I enjoyed the holidays and all the craziness of the snow too.
Josiah is a very special, sweet and smart little boy and I too look forward to helping him to be able to cope with school and show everyone how smart he is. Love ya
