Ah, the busy and crazy life we lead

I want to start with a few funny things via Josiah. The older he gets the better his speech is getting and frankly he is just the funniest thing in the world to me. :-)

Lately he has decided to change his name. Don't exactly know what prompted the change but he has decided his new name is Josiah Samuel Red. Well, you have to understand first, that red is his favorite color and since our real last name is a color, well I think he made some sort of correlation and decided his last name really should be his favorite color. Hence, his new name. We just kinda go with the flow these days, and tell him that's a nice name.

About a week ago, he also decided that he really did not like Santa, for what reason, again I have no clue. But I was told that Santa did not need to come to our house. I tried to discuss it with him but he was quite adamate. We wondered if he was just scared by him, but no, he's not scared of him... Josiah just tells me that he doesn't want Santa to come down our chimney. So a couple nights ago, the all time favorite Charlie Brown Christmas was on t.v. and of course they talked about Santa and presents. Well the very next morning I was told that Santa could bring him a present now, becuase he says "well I need presents because I'm a good boy." LOL Oh, how they change their minds. I am happy though that he has decided that Santa is ok now.

Now for an update on our crazy household. We have added an extra member to our household since Thanksgiving time. No, we didn't have another baby! Come'on it takes time to grow those. :-) No, my younger sister has moved in with us till she can get her life started here in OR. She is working on getting a job. She also had her 4 wisdom teeth removed this week. So it's been sick bay around here this week. She is however starting to feel better today and even went to an interview at lunchtime today. It went well. Should hear next week the results.

This last weekend we made another spontaneous trip, this time to the gorge to see some waterfalls and went to the Bonneville Dam fish hatchery. Of course I forgot my camera... ugh... but the weather was good... meaning it was not raining just windy. Josiah was feeling very upset about a fishing he went on with his daddy and Grandpa because they had not caught any fish, so we took him to see some really big fish and we fed the big honkin' trout in the ponds there. It was lots of fun and it seemed to appease Josiah's need to see a big fish. Oh and the waterfalls, just as beautiful as always but with a little bit of ice added in for that awesome winter beauty the gorge always provides.

This next month will be a whirlwind of excitement around here as baby Jacob learns how to crawl (that's what he's currently working on) and with getting ready for Christmas. All the baking, crafting, and fun activities that I have planned will keep our family very busy. I hope your families enjoy this season as well. And don't forget "who" to celebrate this season. Blessings to you.
