Look who's one!

BIRTHDAY BOY! (such a silly boy)

We celebrated Jacob's first birthday this last Sunday. He had a such a good time even though he is sick with yet another cold this winter. I think his worst symptom is the cough but we are working through it. Anyway, we had an Elmo birthday for him. I made a cake and we had the party at my folk's house. Most of the Green family came (except David and Jesse who were sick) and of course my folk's and all 4 of us were there. It was so much fun! He got lots of fun new toys and all the kids had a great time experiencing them.
Hope you all have a good week. Blessings to you all.

Spontaneous trip to zoo

We were supposed to visit OMSI today with a friend but she was too ill to go. Josiah was quite sad so I decided we should go to the zoo since the sun was shining and he had lots of energy to burn and we have season passes so it was free! So the 3 of us set off at 10 am this morning and spent 3 hrs walking around the zoo. We did not see everything, of course b/c a good 45 minutes of that was eating lunch but we did see a lot of animals. I wish my hubby could have been there, the weather was great and the kids had a fantastic time and amazingly enough...they behaved magnificently! Yay for good days! Today was one of those days you just want to hug your kids and never let go of the moment! Blessings to you all as you look at the great pictures. :-)

Since mommy was in such a good mood today we even bought one of those silly picture postcards. What a rip-off, the picture looked terrible compared to this picture.

A trip to Road's End

Since we did not celebrate Valentine's Day as a family (just the 4 of us) very much we decided to take a trip to Lincoln City as a way to spend time together, and Jonny and I decided we would much rather spend money taking a fun beach trip than to buy each other "stuff". It was a good choice. The weather was fabulous and the kids were great (well except for Josiah's whiney-tired-not feel good mood afterwards). As always Jacob was a doll, and Josiah ran his heart out! We brought Curly, our dog, and he also ran to his heart's content with Josiah in tow (it may have been the other way around at times, Josiah had to encourage Curly to chase him.) We always enjoy watching our kids play and on the beach is no exception. We ran, we jumped, we skipped, we looked for agates, we touch sea anomene's, we soaked in the sun, we climbed on rocks, and even got a little wet; oh yeah and Jacob ate some sand. What a wonderful day celebrating our love for our family! Enjoy the pictures!

Jacob discovered that sand does not taste so good.

I wish the boys always played so well together. Oh, the moments to cherish!

Me and my boys, happy together! Good times

Nope, sand really doesn't taste good, but this shovel makes a really fun noise when hit on rock.
Looks like he's trying to grow some daddy stubble already... :-)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here are some pictures of our cookie making fun yesterday.
We made 3 dozen valentine cookies for a party that we are going to attend today. It was lots of fun... as I'm sure you can see.
Hope you all have a lovely day! Know you are loved!

Growing up fast

Yesterday I gave my kids a magazine they could tear up or do whatever they want with it. I figured I'd clean up the mess later. What's the point of being a kid if you can't make a horrific mess that your mom has to spend an hour cleaning up, right? What's even better, I let them. :-)

Anyway, Josiah is carefully going through the pages and then tears a couple out. He proceeds to carry them throughout the house, then they disappeared. Then he rips up other pages and then makes some into paper airplanes with the help of momma of course. Later on after the mess is distributed "carefully" throughout my house, he brings me on the first pages he ripped out and tells me he wants this girl. I said "What?" He points to a really pretty (maybe 8 yr old) little girl with curls all over and tells me "I want to marry her momma." I was like oh really, when you gonna do this? Tomorrow he tells me. I tell him don't you think you ought to get to know her first? He says she looks nice and I want her to be my best friend.

Later on my husband and I find this magazine page placed on the pillow of his bed. We giggled to ourselves. Oh boy, they grow up way too fast. And to try to keep their innocence in today's times is getting harder and harder. I pray that he always treats girls (women) so nicely, and gives them the benefit of the doubt, just because they look like nice people.
